Modo Yoga Nanaimo
I love practicing yoga at Modo Yoga Nanaimo. I have been to several yoga studios in my lifetime, I started practicing over 20 years ago. Gosh, that’s hard to say out loud! I love yoga but I find it really challenging to get into a studio and practice even though, every time I take a small break and go back, I’m reminded of how much I love it. I’m reminded how much more I get from practicing in a studio setting. Today was my first class in almost three months. I’ll admit that this is largely due to the fact that I won a membership to Planet fitness (check out my review of them here) so I have been spending more time there than in a studio. I’ve been practicing at home occasionally, but it’s really not the same.
At the studio, I sweat. I get really in touch with my breath. I let the yoga teacher push me. I feel a connection to myself in the mirror. It’s a long list of things I absolutely love about practicing yoga. Modo yoga is a studio chain but I don’t feel like that is a negative at all. I like knowing what to expect if I practice in another town at another Modo studio and as we all know I’m a nomad, not just a digital nomad! I live and work in different areas all the time. I do consider Nanaimo to be home though and Modo yoga Nanaimo to be my home studio.
Modo yoga Nanaimo had two amazing studios before the pandemic hit but currently, they only have the Dufferin Road location. They have a lovely selection of gear and props. I’ve always felt really welcome here. I haven’t got a single negative thing to say about any class I have attended or any instructor I’ve experienced. I love a good flow class as much as I love a yin class.
Here are a couple of clips taken directly from the Modo website. Just to give an idea of the style available at the studio.

There are showers here something we van lifers can’t live without! Particularly after a hot sweaty yoga class. Check out Modo Yoga Nanaimo, or take a look at their website to see if there is one in your hometown! I was not paid or rewarded in any way for this review.
